Description

The meat counter at the supermarket during the day, silence at night: this is what Cora's life looks like. Until her childhood friend Olympia is arrested and everything comes back. The summer they met again, when everything hummed inside her, the seawater still on her skin, the glitter on her cap, the decorated fingernails. The long days in the big, empty house with Olympia, which Cora recognizes for what it is. And how quickly she no longer only has Olympia for herself after the illegal party, where they crossed a boundary for the first time, after which Olympia spends so much time with Ariel and her activist group. While Cora tries to keep up at school and with Olympia, a radical idea sprouts from her— and Cora gets entangled in a web of lies from which there seems to be no escape.
