Description

When the two best friends Jo and Raissa land on the mysterious island Nakali, they realize that the way home demands a lifetime of memories – perhaps also of the person who means the most to them. The Grammy- and Oscar®-winning artist H. E. R. and Liza Soberano (Lisa Frankenstein, Alone with You) shine in the lead roles as Jo and Raissa. The two high school graduates have been inseparable friends since childhood. But now they are at the beginning of very different life paths. On their last night together, Jo and Raissa discover a mysterious portal that transports them to the enigmatic island Nakali. This fantastic place is inhabited by magical and mythical beings, whom they have heard of as children in stories from their Filipino families. Some of these beings become allies, others dangerous enemies. Together with the gentle but hopelessly clumsy werewolf Raww (originally Dave Franco) and a small but determined group of new companions, Jo and Raissa must face the feared Manananggal, voiced in the original by Tony Award-winning icon Lea Salonga. When they realize that the price for their return is the memories of their entire friendship, Jo and Raissa begin a desperate race against time: they must leave the island before they forget each other forever.
