Description

At the end of the summer exhibition «Salon der Gegenwart - Orte», Galerie Stans invites you to a concert with Katrin Wüthrich. The musician, who lives in Buochs, will play the gallery rooms with accordion and glockenspiel. After the concert, an aperitif will be offered. The exhibition at Galerie Stans is part of the first appearance of the Zurich group of figurative painting «Salon der Gegenwart» in Central Switzerland. Works by all fifteen participating artists are shown in the four exhibition institutions Galerie Stans, Tal Museum Engelberg, akku Kunstplattform Emmen and Hans Erni Museum Lucerne, ten come from the circle of the «Salon der Gegenwart», five guests from Central Switzerland join. However, each exhibition venue sets its own thematic focus. Galerie Stans focuses on the versatile phenomenon «Places». A wide range of themes is covered. Rural and urban landscapes from Switzerland can be seen, but also subjects from Ireland or Vietnam. Imaginary landscapes and human images are also represented. Smaller pictures painted on site alternate with large formats created in the studio. The participating artists illustrate the topicality and versatility of figurative painting. Various generations are represented, namely Urs Aeschbach, Stefan Auf der Maur, Irene Bisang, Miranda Fierz, Corinne Güdemann, Anna Krammig, Rosina Kuhn, Sepideh NourManesh, Vera Mattmann, Andrea Muheim, Ercan Richter, Giampaolo Russo, Lukas Salzmann, Karoline Schreiber and Rebekka Steiger.
