This exhibition offers insight into the life and defense strategies of Festung Fürigen, a fortress hidden within the rocks of Bürgenberg near Stansstad. Built during World War II as part of Switzerland's defensive plan, it remained operational through the Cold War and was last used in 2009 for a Swiss TV reality show. The display highlights societal changes in the region and the experiences of soldiers who served there until the 1980s, featuring an audiovisual tour through the fortress's gun emplacements and living quarters.
