Description
A solo by Andreas Storm "When I was 4 years old, my sister moved out and left me her record collection. Since then, I have been obsessed with records and music. When I was 8, I convinced my mother to buy me "Pyramid" by Alan Parsons Project. Just because of the cover. A record with SUCH A COVER simply couldn't be bad! I only listened to that record. I invented choreographies for it and danced them in front of my mother. Almost as a love trade. On socks, in the living room, in front of the wardrobe. I still remember these choreographies today. And I thought: I could still dance them 50 years later. And the audience would be my mother." Based on his own biography, performer Andreas Storm, who describes himself as "fat, asthmatic, and approaching 60," reflects on personal and societal attempts to escape what is called "reality" through the institution of "club" for hours — and at the same time to come fully to oneself. What does it mean to listen to music and move to it? Is it a nearly religious experience — or simply embarrassing? And is there a difference? "Fat man dancing? That's five minutes of fun." F. M. "Put on your red shoes and dance the blues." D. B. An evening about rituals on the dancefloor, about hopes, promises, and humiliations that await us all as soon as we move. Mentally and physically. Hashtag: asthma, self-hatred, junk food belly, intoxication, self-empowerment bullshit through the tool of pity, murderers on the dancefloor, blood on the dancefloor, queer becoming on the dancefloor, mourning, the worst song in the world, camp, and that DJane and the saving of life last night.
