Description
Highlight of the 2026/27 season for the Kammerorchester Unter den Linden is the world premiere of its new stage program THE LITTLE MERMAID on March 13, 2027, at the Philharmonie – freely based on the famous fairy tale by Hans-Christian Andersen and with freshly composed orchestral music by Andreas Peer Kähler. During a concert preview on January 24, 2027, in Dahlem, the new work will not only be performed for the first time, but the audience can also gain rare insights into the creation process of text and music in a kind of "Making Of" and get to know the large-format stage sets of the Berlin painter Gisela Serafin in a small exhibition. The Kammerorchester Unter den Linden performs under the direction of the composer, who is also the narrator. Suitable for ages 6 and up – 120 minutes, but with a coffee, juice, and cake break.
