Description
Breaking for young and old: In the Family Dance Workshop, children from 6 years old and their adult companions try out first moves and get to know the dance style playfully. Kwangsuk "Issue" Park and Hyosung "Cho" Joo playfully teach the basics of breaking. With simple movement tasks, exercises in pairs, and a short joint choreography, the focus is on trying out and moving together. No prior knowledge is needed. Just a desire to move and try together. The workshop is inspired by the upcoming piece Das Schwingfest. In it, a dog, a goat, a cow, and a marmot try traditional Swiss wrestling. Movements from breaking, wrestling, and the animal world meet – elements that also flow into the workshop. The "Family Dance Workshop: Breaking" is a project by eight2one (opens in a new window), in co-production with Tanzhaus Zürich. Children from 6 years old with a companion (parents/legal guardians)
