Description

An EYPA concert is more than just music. Being mindful in the moment is what the Arabic word كن (“Kun”) stands for, which adorns EYPA as a nickname. Arab Krautrock - this is how the duo describes their sound of electronic Oud, synthesizer, and drums. As a transcultural project, Eyad Ghannam and Paul-Aaron Wolf create a new perspective on the musical zeitgeist. Drums push, synth basses and sci-fi sounds combined with Arabic melodies and multilingual singing. Trance and ecstasy, resting and breaking out, inhaling and shouting out, this is what defines the EYPA sound. EYPA also performs in a large ensemble: in early 2026, the live album "EYPA Community" was recorded. Electric guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion, and multi-voice singing greatly expand the sound diversity. Since 2026, EYPA can also be found in Arabic under الراعي والذئب (Al-Ra'i wa al-Di'b) “The Shepherd and the Wolf,” derived from the surnames of the two artists. Besides concerts, the band also offers transcultural music workshops where Arabic and Western musical cultures can be experienced in an accessible and interactive way.
