Marianne Bataillard – Animal Illustrator: Marianne Bataillard was born in Lausanne and is a graduate of the École Cantonale des Beaux-Arts. Her professional life has always oscillated between her passion for drawing and her work as a freelance graphic designer and museographer. As a lover of nature and vast landscapes, it was primarily the mineral world and distant travels that inspired her to create real or imaginary landscapes, which she expressed in works that always lie on the edge of abstraction. Today, she is a resident of Valais and lives in Les Granges-sur-Salvan, where she can observe the rich wildlife of the Trient Valley and immerse herself in a nature that enchants her and fuels her dreams and work. Naturally, a change of course occurred, and her passion for figurative drawing has caught up with her again: she now dedicates herself entirely to the animal world. Whether sketches made on the spot or illustrations created in the studio, she never tires of capturing life on paper. "I love to draw, I love to hear the rustling of the pencil on the paper texture. I love it when my hand takes me on a journey. I love to see life emerge on the blank page..." Today, she has decided to showcase about fifty animal illustrations on paper in the Galerie des Combles, which were created on spontaneously applied backgrounds with colored ink and subsequently refined with ink and colored pencil drawings. The students of Mr. Siro Vierin: Under the patronage of the Adult Education Center of Entremont, Mr. Siro Vierin from Saint-Oyen in the Aosta Valley has been teaching wood sculpture courses for over 25 years. Numerous followers from Bagnes, Bovernier, Bourg-St-Pierre, Liddes, Orsières, Vollèges, and Verbier attentively follow the well-founded advice of the best wood sculptor in the Aosta Valley, who has been nominated multiple times at the St-Ours fairs. For this exhibition at the "Belle Toile," Audrey Bruchez, her father Eric Bruchez, Catherine Vaudan, Clairmonde Vaudan, and Serge Gabioud present their works created under the guidance of their master.
