Description
In June 2026, we launched the exhibition "Emigration: The Story of an Involuntary Journey Without Return" in the villa garden, which brings closer the dramatic fates of those who were forced to undertake the most significant journey of their lives – an existential and involuntary one. The exhibition maps often dramatic journeys not only of the Stiassni family or architect Wiesner, but also of the Bloch, Engelsmann, Stern, Münz, and Löw-Beer families – journeys united by one goal – the salvation of their own lives. The exhibition is presented in the garden of the Stiassni villa, and there will also be a supporting program that we will gradually announce, including meetings with several descendants of the aforementioned families, with whom we will lay the so-called Stones of the Disappeared for their family members who were forced to leave Brno, to leave their home. Texts: Michal Doležel, Mgr. Kateřina Konečná Graphic design: MgA. Eva Havelková Design of exhibition stands: Ing. arch. Aleš Burian Production of exhibition stands: Jan Deiss The exhibition is part of the project of the National Heritage Institute "In the Footsteps of Noble Families," in 2026 subtitled "Nobility on the Move." The exhibition was financially supported by the South Moravian Region.
