On the search for a new place in life. After Eva Menasse was awarded the Bruno Kreisky Prize for Political Book of the Year 2021 for her latest novel "Dunkelblum" (Kiepenheuer & Witsch 2021), she now presents another multi-layered novel with witty reflections on foreignness and homeland. In "Alleinruhelage" (Kiepenheuer & Witsch 2026), she writes the interim balance of a woman's life, who suddenly finds herself alone with the weekend house after her divorce. She wants to reclaim this place of former family idyll and fights her way through renovations and other setbacks with two companions, in order to set out once again from her "stable solitary position."
