Description
EmptyArray EmptyArray creates music through a non-hierarchical, emergent process of collective improvisation. Without a designated leader, music arises from constant mutual interaction, evolving in real-time through attentive listening and immediate reactions. Each performance is a continuous dialogue, where roles are not strictly defined: the piano can create rhythm, the drums can suggest harmony, and the bass can carry the melody. Through this reactive and iterative approach, the ensemble discovers a shared musical space where each voice influences the direction of the whole. The name EmptyArray is a metaphor inspired by programming languages. It refers to the mathematical idea that through repeated iteration starting from an empty set, increasingly richer structures can emerge. Similarly, the band's music demonstrates how complex and unexpected musical forms can be shaped through collective interaction and an ongoing process from minimal starting points. Secret Session Original music with echoes of psychedelia, art rock, jam band improvisational approaches, and singer-songwriter influences enriched by a distinctive artistic language and lyrical expression. The visual trip will be provided by the analog projections of scenographer Ivi Macková, which went out of fashion half a century ago and have never been seen here (not in fashion, but at all). The projection is created in real-time, analog-mechanically through a slide projector, making it always different and authentic. The emphasis in both music and visuals is on colorfulness, dynamics, atmosphere, and besides well-known instruments, the band uses Mellotron, Theremin, Glockenspiel(s), bass pedals, temple blocks, various percussion, and who knows what else..
