Description
«Be silent before the Lord and hold still, so that he may work, what he wills.»
Individual retreats provide a framework to bring our lives before God: our creatureliness, our uniqueness, but also our need for salvation.
The continuous silence helps us to be fully present with ourselves. During personal prayer times (usually three times a day) with biblical texts and images, we allow God's words and actions to happen to us and respond to them.
In the daily accompaniment conversation, we listen together for God's voice and receive prayer impulses for the coming day. Body exercises anchor us in the here and now, prepare us for prayer, and train our perception.
As a group, we meet for body awareness exercises, contemplative presence before God, and at the end of the day, for communion.
Daily schedule: 7:30 a.m. start of the day, 8:15 a.m. breakfast, prayer time / accompaniment conversation, 12:00 p.m. lunch or snack, prayer time / accompaniment conversation, 5:45 p.m. contemplation, 6:30 p.m. dinner, prayer of loving attention, 8:30 p.m. end of the day with communion.
Waiting for God's work requires readiness for silence. Silence and quiet create a space for listening. Therefore, we spend these days - except for the personal accompaniment conversation - in silence (also during meals). Source: www.weiterbildung.swiss
