Three Stolpersteine commemorate the Jewish family Kroner, who owned the "Zauberkönig" shop on Friedrichstraße. Based on their fate, we ask about the failure of an entire society.
How would we have behaved? Would we have acted as escape helpers like Maria von Maltzan, the "Lioness of Berlin," against oppression? And will we recognize the moment today, amid rising violence, when we must act?
