d'Wärchi – Shibori (Japanese Dyeing Technique)

Description

«Make it blue!» – and discover the fascinating world of Shibori. The traditional Japanese dyeing technique captivates with its intense indigo blue and unique patterns created by folding, tying, wrapping, and clamping the fabric. In this course, you will learn various Shibori techniques and can immediately try out how different shapes and folds repeatedly develop new patterns. Afterwards, we will prepare the traditional dye bath with indigo together and dip our fabrics into the dye. We will experience a piece of traditional craftsmanship with all our senses: from preparing the dye bath, designing the fabrics, to the exciting moment when the typical indigo blue develops. You are encouraged to experiment, bring your own ideas, and be surprised at how your fabric changes. Because in creative work, there is no right or wrong – each piece becomes a very personal unique item. A sensual and creative day for everyone who wants to learn about a special dyeing technique and experience traditional craftsmanship firsthand.
