With style and ease, she breathes new energy into every piece of music and guides a song to a new, unexpected place. "Going Home" opens a new chapter. The single announces her second album of her second trilogy, "My World Is The Sun," which will be released on February 20, 2026, by Ensoul Records. The two-time JUNO Award-winning Dominique Fils-Aimé from Montreal is known for her warm, expressive voice and her socially engaged lyrics. Her music ranges between jazz, soul, and blues, blending elements of African American music with modern, personal influences. Dominique works in musical trilogies, each album telling part of her artistic and personal development. Her first trilogy was inspired by artists like Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Etta James, highlighting various aspects of African American music history. The first album, Nameless (2018), with its bluesy tones, dealt with themes of pain and silence of the past. It was appreciated internationally by hi-fi fans and led to two sold-out concerts at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. The second album, Stay Tuned! (2019), was a musical call for change and was awarded the JUNO Award 2020 for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year and the Félix Award 2019 for Best Jazz Album. It was also shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize and named one of CBC's best Canadian albums of the year. With Three Little Words (2021), Dominique concluded the trilogy with an album about reconciliation, which also received international recognition. In 2023, she launched a new trilogy with the album Our Roots Run Deep, sounding more introspective and nature-inspired. The work was awarded the JUNO Award 2024 and the Félix Award 2024 for Best Jazz Album. The music explores the theme of growth, with nature symbolizing the connection between people. In February 2026, the second part of this series will be released: My World Is The Sun, announced by the single Going Home (release: November 20, 2025). In it, Dominique explores the core of creative work—freedom, openness, and authenticity as central values. On stage, Dominique Fils-Aimé is known for her intense and atmospheric live performances. Her first live album, Live at the Montreal International Jazz Festival (2025), recorded on the main stage of the festival, showcases her stage presence and close connection with her audience. In recent years, she has also established herself internationally, performing at Jazz à Vienne (supporting Jamie Cullum), the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Jazzablanca Festival in Morocco, and at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, representing Canada. In fall 2025, she embarked on her first US tour with concerts at Blue Note New York, Blue Note Los Angeles, and the Monterey Jazz Festival. In 2026, Dominique Fils-Aimé will present her new album as part of a world tour, with concerts in Europe (including Paris and Brussels), at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and again in the USA.
