Description

Fifteen-year-old Ahmet lives with his strict father and his little brother Naim, who has not spoken since their mother's death, in a remote village in North Macedonia. A small flock of sheep is the family's most valuable possession. When they escape from Ahmet one night, he stumbles upon a techno party while searching in despair in the forest. He is fascinated by the music and by Aya, a rebellious peer. She recently returned from Germany and is to enter an arranged marriage. To prevent this, the two plan a daring appearance at the village festival. Macedonian director Georgi M. Unkovski explores the conflict between tradition and modernity in his heartwarming debut with much charm and wit. The colorful comedy was awarded both the Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Carlos Aguilar writes in Variety: " is a revelation!
