Stage set concept, costume design: Jakob Knapp
Films: Julius Gause PREMIERE was on Friday, 02.09.2022 Duration: approx. 1h 50 Min. (including a break after approx. 50 Min) Intendant Alina Gause presents herself with the new production of Diva Berlin to the audience as an author and songwriter. The Berliner casts a look at her hometown in her solo musical theater evening: critically, humorously, and tenderly at the same time. What is the deep love of Berliners for themselves and their city based on? How does the rest of the world see it? What was life like with the Wall? And what really happened on 9.11.1989? In her autofictional stories and songs, which reflect the wit, violence (and) and heartbeat of this city, Berlin is not a glamorous metropolis, not a subject of picturesque Zillestuben songs, but a state, a conviction, a way of life. An amusing and moving piece, about which the press wrote after the world premiere: “An absolutely recommendable evening with really good entertainment.” (Die Welt)
