When the university falls silent and only the wind softly blows through the empty corridors, Mozart's The Magic Flute comes to new life. In this university project, the search for identity becomes the true drama. Tamino no longer merely wanders through nocturnal forests but through the labyrinths of his own self. Pamina struggles not only with her mother and Sarastro but also with the question of who she may be – between worlds, genders, duty, love, and longing. Even Papageno suddenly feels that his longing is more than just the search for a counterpart: it is the answer to the great question of one's place in this confusing world. With magical lightness and deep poetic power, the story unfolds in the nighttime hours. Holographic projections bring figures of light and shadow to life, illuminate books, and blur the boundaries between reality and dream. The venerable volumes of the library become silent witnesses to a timeless play – and suddenly Mozart's music feels so close, so alive, as if it had just been composed in these very rooms.
