As a conductor, a star, Omer Meir Wellber quickly conducted his way into the hearts of Hamburgers. What few know: the artist born in Israel and raised in Germany, Omer Meir Wellber, is not only an excellent musician but also a novelist. His debut novel "The Four Powerless of Chaim Birkner" (2019) is a humorous and fast-paced picaresque novel about the trauma of the lost homeland of European Jews emigrated to Israel. Wellber's hero is an anti-hero, living from 1930-2038 and living to 108 years old... He is a Holocaust survivor, immigrant, kibbutznik, writer, office worker, liar, father against his will - a man with many faces and stories... Together with musicians of the Philharmonic State Orchestra and in conversation with Joachim Lux, he introduces himself and his literary work, including his Mozart book "The Fear, the Risk, and Love". Omer Meir Wellber is the General Music Director of the Hamburg State Opera and the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra.
