Berlin premiere of the rediscovered original film music concert with the METROPOLIS ORCHESTRA BERLIN conducted by Burkhard Götze. Berlin's first performance of a lost milestone of film music!
For the expressionist silent film classic "Der Golem, wie er in die Welt kam," Jewish composer Hans Landsberger wrote the pioneering film music in 1920. However, for nearly 100 years, it could no longer be heard: all works by the composer and Holocaust victim were considered lost until Richard Siedhoff tracked down and reconstructed this music in 2018. The Munich Film Museum was able to finally digitally reconstruct the film based on the rediscovered music—using film materials scattered worldwide. In October 2026, the film will be released on DVD in the Film Museum Edition. Both the film restoration and the original music will have their grand premiere in this film concert. In conversation with Knut Elstermann, restorer, project leader, and director of the Munich Film Museum Stefan Drößler, and the discoverer and re-constructor of the music Richard Siedhoff will discuss the highly exciting restoration work.

The film concert presents the rediscovered original music for the silent film classic "Der Golem, wie er in die Welt kam." Under the direction of Burkhard Götze, the music by Jewish composer Hans Landsberger will be performed live for the first time in nearly 100 years.
