«The Fox – Master of Adaptation»

Description

He is clever, elegant, and one of the most widespread mammals in Switzerland and the world. He inhabits a variety of habitats: from lowlands to mountains, often in our immediate neighborhood. His reputation is not always the best: he is considered a carrier of diseases and a chicken thief. But the fox is much more than that. Hunted and fought for centuries, he shows remarkable adaptability – a true survivor. The special exhibition produced by the Bündner Nature Museum invites you to rediscover the fox as an «unknown acquaintance» with all its facets – and to examine the relationship between humans and foxes more closely. Part of the exhibition in St. Gallen is also the project «StadtWildTiere». In this project, «Citizen Scientists» have been reporting wildlife observations in the city of St. Gallen for 10 years, making a valuable contribution to understanding urban nature.
