Reading with Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss "I am an old, black, gay Ossi" – this is how Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss introduced himself in 2025 at the RTL Jungle Camp. Stereotypes he constantly faces – both positively and negatively. Growing up in East Berlin as the son of a West African father and a German mother, he had to confront questions of belonging, visibility, and identity early on. His career began with culinary training and led him through acting school to renowned stages and eventually into film and television.
He became known through films like Doris Dörrie's Keiner liebt mich and his long-standing role as Commissioner Axel Richter in the ZDF crime series Der Alte. But Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss is more than a TV face: he is a director, children's book author, audiobook narrator, activist, and part of the #actout campaign for more diversity in art and media.
Disarmingly honest, yet always with a wink, he talks about personal and political struggles, successes and setbacks, racism and homophobia – and about the freedom to start anew again and again. Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss, (*1962 in East Berlin), studied at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" in Berlin. Besides numerous theater engagements, he has appeared in many film productions, including Doris Dörrie's Keiner liebt mich and Bin ich schön?. In 1999, he debuted as director and screenwriter with Zurück auf Los! A broad television audience knew him from the ZDF crime series Der Alte (1997–2015). In 2025, he participated in the RTL show Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!, which he left as vice king. Besides his work in film and television, Pierre Sanoussi-Bliss also works as a voice actor. Additional information:
