For almost 25 years, the Dutch quintet has been pushing the boundaries of industrial rock with visceral creativity. After performances at Glastonbury and Sziget Festival, as well as tours alongside Biffy Clyro and Muse, they are now stopping at the "Usine à Gaz." After a two-year break, De Staat returns with "THE KING," a new single shaped like a concrete block: six minutes of tribal percussion, massive keyboards, and cutting guitars. No chorus, no compromises. "It's not our goal to be catchy," emphasizes singer Torre Florim. An intense song about the eternal cycle of power: rise, conquest, fall. The band's seventh album follows shortly thereafter, accompanied by a show where industrial riffs, harsh electronic sounds, and captivating stage presence promise an experience that resembles a ritual as much as a concert. And what if Kurt Cobain and Ariana Grande had a Pokémon together? The result would be something like Hiqpy: a quartet founded at the Amsterdam Conservatory, created with grunge guitars and pop energy to really get the stage going. Their album "Slow Death Of A Good Girl" (April 2026), produced by Grammy-winning Danton Supple (Coldplay, U2, Elbow), tells the emancipation of a "Good Girl" who finally learns to say no. Discovered as a newcomer at Eurosonic Noorderslag, even before releasing anything, with more than forty festival appearances in 2024, including "Into The Great Wide Open," and unanimous praise from the Dutch press: Smashing Pumpkins, Wolf Alice, Pixies.
