Eight years after an initial album recorded with GarageBand, Bass Drum of Death returns to their original recipe. Their sixth album bears a title that leaves no doubt: SIX. No tricks, no frills – just the raw sound that made them famous. This time, John Barrett is no longer playing alone in his corner. The full trio – Jim Barrett on guitar, Ian Kirkpatrick on drums – lock themselves in the home studio in Nashville to shape the songs before heading to ten days of fine-tuning at Battle Tapes Studio under the direction of Jeremy Ferguson (Cage the Elephant, White Reaper) in winter. The result? A gritty and impactful breakout, situated between the Stooges and ZZ Top, without ever sounding like a mere nostalgia trip. The press is not mistaken: with cutting riffs and pounding rhythms, “SIX” establishes itself as one of the most honest garage rock albums of the year. Released through Cobraside Records, the album sent the band on tour on both sides of the Atlantic. On stage, the formula has not changed since their beginnings in 2008: no safety net, no cheating. At the “Usine à Gaz,” we can expect three guys, fully amplified amps, and a set that reminds you why garage rock never had to be complicated to rock hard. Automobile Club, a power trio from Geneva founded in 2024, driven by irony and distortion. Members come from bands The Animen, Kuma, and Promethee, delivering unfiltered alternative rock: roaring guitars, relentless rhythms. Full throttle, no brakes. Debut album “Revolt Means Love” (February 2026), twelve tracks dissecting the absurdities of the modern world between punk urgency and grunge depth. Their battle cry: “We want life, beauty, truth, and dignity.” At the Usine à Gaz, the revolt becomes an act of love.
