Christine is torn between her childhood love, Count Raoul de Chagny, and her mysterious mentor, with whose help she gains enchanting beauty for her voice. "I know who I love, now I must know who I must hate." A sentence that captures the delicate love triangle of the world-famous story of "The Phantom of the Opera." Since 2010, the musical production by Sasson/Sautter has captivated audiences on European stages. The forced break due to the Corona pandemic was used creatively to completely overhaul the musical. British successful musician Ryan Martin, who has composed and arranged music for Cirque du Soleil, America’s Got Talent, Netflix, BBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox USA, was brought in for this. Besides the joy of performance of the large stage ensemble and the breathtaking music, the spectacular stage design also impresses. It is alive both through the effectful, three-dimensional video projections of internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Daniel Stryjecki and the grand stage elements designed and built by Michael Scott of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. The production has now been awarded the "Golden Sun 2023" by Sonnenklar.TV for the best musical, recognizing the quality of the performers, music, and spectacular stage design.
