Description
“I sing a song,” thought the star, “a song, how beautiful everything is when you look at it like I do. And I sing it for everyone who wants to listen.” What is closer to a bird than expressing itself through singing? But what might a song about the beauty of the world sound like? So the star flies from one bird to another and asks: “What do you find beautiful about the world?” Each animal considers something different important: the trees that stand between sky and earth and the night with its various colors. The water, the flowers, and the stones. The more he asks around, the longer and more diverse his stanzas become. And so he ends up singing perhaps the most beautiful song of all: the song of life. The picture book by Octavie Wolters, known for her enchanting linocut illustrations, encourages us to also think about what is not immediately visible. The book is a tribute to the diversity of nature and the beauty of life with its multifaceted nature. Since the advent of music, composers have been inspired by nature. And since these different sound colors are difficult to describe in words, the Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim makes this a reading of the picture book with classical works audible.
