Description
Modern aging research clearly shows that while our genes determine part of our aging, our lifestyle has a much greater impact on health, quality of life, and life expectancy. With the right habits, we can positively influence our biological age and gain many years full of vitality. In this varied, scientifically based, and lightly humorous lecture, you will learn which factors have been proven to help you stay healthy, fit, and mentally capable for longer. The findings of current longevity research are clearly explained and directly linked with practical tips that can be easily integrated into everyday life. You will discover why regular exercise is considered one of the most effective "medications" for a long life and which type of training particularly strengthens the heart, muscles, brain, and metabolism sustainably. You will learn which diet reduces inflammation and optimally nourishes the body, why intermittent fasting can stimulate the body's natural repair and regeneration processes, and what health benefits regular sauna use offers for the cardiovascular system, immune system, and brain. We also examine why chronic stress accelerates the aging process and which simple habits help keep body and mind in balance in the long term. Another focus is on sleep: you will learn why restful nights are much more than a recovery break and what central role they play for memory, immune system, hormone balance, and cell regeneration. Last but not least, we take a look at a often underestimated health factor: social relationships. Good friendships, shared experiences, and the feeling of connectedness are among the strongest protective factors for a long and fulfilling life. You will also learn why biological age is often more important than the number on the birthday cake and how even small changes in everyday life can have surprisingly large effects on your health and quality of life. Look forward to an inspiring evening with surprising aha moments, exciting scientific insights, and a touch of humor. Because aging healthily does not mean chasing every new trend but knowing the few levers that really make a difference – so that the gained years of life are above all: fit and worth living years.
