DakhaBrakha – The Sound of Free Ukraine DakhaBrakha are touring Europe and presenting their new album Ptakh. On Friday, December 11, 2026, the Ukrainian quartet will stop at Spirgarten Zürich. The lineup includes a sound that blends Ukrainian folklore, global rhythms, and theater — and an album that tells stories of freedom, resistance, and the history of today’s Ukraine. Founded at the experimental theater Dakh in Kyiv, DakhaBrakha has developed their own style: Ethno-Chaos. Traditional Ukrainian folk music meets international influences, various instruments, and visual elements. The result is a concert format that combines music and performance. The band has already performed on stages at Glastonbury, Sziget, Pohoda, Bonnaroo, and Roskilde. On their current tour, songs from the new album Ptakh are performed alongside well-known pieces like Sho z-pod duba and Vesna. The title track Ptakh, with lyrics by Ukrainian writer Serhiy Zhadan, symbolizes the search for freedom and the voice of a country at war. With Plyve Choven, the band pays tribute to Ukrainian defenders and all those who will not return home. Supported by video works from Ukrainian artists, the concert goes beyond music — offering insights into a Ukraine between tradition, present, loss, and hope.
