Description

In this children’s concert, the well-known fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty is transformed into a musical puppet show. The ensemble L’Air du Temps combines puppetry with live performances of early music on historical instruments, telling the story in a way that immediately draws children into the action. Music and staging complement each other to create a small theatrical world of their own: the characters come to life, the plot unfolds before the audience’s eyes, and the music accompanies, comments on, and shapes the individual moments of the fairy tale. The result is a concert format designed specifically for young listeners that offers a playful introduction to classical music. The children’s concert is aimed at children ages 4 and up and their families. The event takes place as part of the 45th Zurich Early Music Festival, “royal – Sounds, Dynasties, Family Ties.”
