Course on Fresco Technique

Description

The fresco technique involves painting with pigments diluted in water on a still damp lime plaster. This ancient technique, perfected during the Renaissance, utilizes the chemical reaction of carbonation: as it dries, the lime incorporates the color, making it an integral part of the wall and very resistant to water and time. Under the expert guidance of Mauro Zanolari - diploma wall decorator SSAA / diploma master painter Fed. - each participant has the opportunity to create their own fresco directly on the wall, measuring 100 cm x 75 cm, using examples provided by the instructor or composing a drawing of their own choice and preference. The course is aimed at those with a reasonable familiarity with drawing. An attached video - available at www.museomoesano.ch - shows how a fresco was made in the 15th century, drawing inspiration from the wall paintings of the church of Santa Maria del Castello in Mesocco. General Information

The Fondazione Museo Moesano offers an adult course on the fresco technique on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own fresco under expert guidance, using traditional methods and materials.
