Conference by Janika Päll, professor of classical philology at the University of Tartu (Estonia).Between the 16th and early 18th centuries, the libraries of Northern and North-Eastern Europe were profoundly affected by the Religious Reformations and geopolitical conflicts. They experienced secularizations, looting, and destructions before becoming matters of prestige and state centralization.
