Concert in images Two duos alternate throughout the concert, before joining together as a trio. First part: Angelika Hansen & Thomas Loefke The violinist from the Faroe Islands Angelika Hansen and the harpist Thomas Loefke create a dialogue between the island heritages of the North Atlantic and the Scandinavian worlds. Celtic cultures have never been alone on stage: in this vast maritime area, they have also encountered, along Viking routes, Nordic languages and cultures. At the crossroads of Gaelic languages and Old Norse*, the music of this original duo opens a soundscape accompanied by Thomas Loefke's photographs, inviting the audience on a journey both dreamlike and striking. *medieval Old Scandinavian language Second part: Máire Breatnach & Thomas Loefke In the second part of the concert, the focus shifts more directly to Irish traditions. Alongside Thomas Loefke, the violinist and singer Máire Breatnach performs music imbued with Gaelic culture, where ancient repertoires and original compositions are united by the same expressive freedom. For her, tradition is less than ever a fixed heritage, but a living memory, where Celtic music, languages, and poetry remain inseparable.
