The Kunstkiosk has shaped several generations of young St. Gallen artists, providing many with their first exhibition platform. It is and has been a breeding ground and showcase for experiments around contemporary art. A space where art can be exchanged and unconventional ideas can be tested. That a free, democratically run art space has existed for such a long time is not a matter of course. Therefore, the Kunstkiosk celebrates its 15th anniversary under the title "Coming of Age" with a one-month pop-up exhibition in the former Tiffany Night Club. The exhibition is as diverse as the people who have shaped the Kunstkiosk: from first artistic attempts to established practice. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the archive: photos, documents, and materials from 15 years of Kunstkiosk are prepared and make previous exhibitions, places, and faces visible again. Additionally, numerous anniversary activities (performances, workshops, tours, and more) take place during the exhibition period. "Coming of Age" is a look back and at the same time forward. The Kunstkiosk does not stop reinventing itself.
