Description
What are the biggest challenges in the preservation of installation artworks? Unlike other art forms, installations can change from exhibition to exhibition, adapting to the exhibition space, a curatorial concept, or the spirit of the times. Variability can be an intentional aspect of a work of art, especially in installations, but it can also result from conservation measures. What influence do artists have on the form their works take during reinstallation in a new environment? How can works be preserved amidst these changes? Which elements of a work remain unchanged, and which can be altered? We will explore these questions through two works by Sylvie Fleury from the museum's collection. Language: English
