Claudia Masika & Band stand for Afro-Fusion that extends far beyond genre boundaries. Traditional songs from Kenya, modern grooves, and warm melodies merge into a sound that directly touches the heart and gets into the legs. At Moods, the powerful singer and artist will debut her new album «We Are The Ones» and demonstrate how much stylistic diversity and depth of content are embedded in her music. The songs address topics that move us: exclusion, solidarity, hope, and new beginnings. Driven by an expressive voice and a seasoned multinational band, a rhythmically complex and layered sound emerges. For each song of the album, Claudia Masika has painted a picture. The works are immortalized in the artwork and will be displayed in their original form at Moods. Thus, music and visual art intertwine, making the stories of the album accessible on multiple levels. Her musical roots go back to the traditional songs of the Luo, with whom she grew up in Kenya. She has lived in Switzerland for many years and is active here not only as a musician but also as a visual artist, as well as the founder and president of the charity HOFOGI for young women in Kenya.
