The libretto is based on a well-known and popular fairy tale, the romantic love of a diligent and obedient maid and a prince, her blossoming, the obstacles in her path, and the fulfillment of a dream. Cinderella is humiliated and tormented by her wicked stepmother and selfish stepsisters as a servant girl. Hard work and harsh words accompany the kind-hearted and selfless girl through everyday life. Her deepest wish to dance at the royal ball is granted by a good fairy. Dressed in a beautiful gown, unrecognized but admired by all, she enchants the court and especially the prince. The twelfth chime ends this magic, and Cinderella hurriedly leaves the ball. She loses her glass slipper on her escape, so that the loving prince can search for and find his chosen one. In its imaginative staging, the ballet ensemble from Naples brings the ancient legend to life with new shining colors. Despite its fundamentally conservative approach to classical ballet, the performance is modern – thanks to the innovative stage design and perfectly crafted costumes.
