Description
The focus is on the so-called chronic boredom. This can arise in very different life situations, such as during longer hospital stays, in everyday school life, in phases of unemployment, or in old age when familiar structures disappear. When people do not have the opportunity to engage in activities as they wish for a longer period, boredom can become a burden. Together with experts, we take a look at what happens in the brain, what effects this form of boredom can have on those affected and their environment, and what ways there are to deal with it in everyday life. The content kickoff of the stage program is an impulse lecture by Uli Funke, entrepreneur and founder of the Academy for Applied Neuroscience. Afterwards, we talk together with the audience and Prof. Dr. Corinna Martarelli, psychologist with a research focus on boredom, Daniel Bosshart, longtime head of various prisons, and Reto Jegher, municipal councilor for social affairs and health, about different approaches and experiences with chronic boredom. This open exchange is moderated by Michèle Schönbächler. To round off the stage program, actor and cabaret artist Matthias Kunz provides a humorous finale. The Vögele Kultur Twister does not want to provide ready-made answers or recipes but to promote joint reflection and open exchange between speakers and audience. So we also invite you to share your experiences and thoughts – just as it suits you. Program:
from 11:15 am (optional): Guided tour through the exhibition "The BOREDOM – quite diverse"
from 12:30 pm: Stage program including break
from approx. 3:00 pm (optional): Conclusion and exchange with a cozy aperitif
