Christoph Voy doesn't just photograph people. He gets right up close to them. The Tagesspiegel once described his photographs as images with a "punch" character: direct, spontaneous, and so close to the action that it's hard to look away. Voy himself does not see himself as an invisible observer. He becomes part of the situation – and it is precisely this mixture of familiarity, provocation, and intimacy that characterizes his photographs.
