Description

THEATERTAGE Competition Kassandra at the port of Mycenae. The war is over, Troy is destroyed, Kassandra is a prisoner. But she does not give up. Kassandra experiences once again how a world believed to be secure collapses, certainties dissolve, loved ones and loved ones disappear or turn against her. She sees a society torn apart from the outside and from within. She observes how her fellow humans are controlled by fear and, as prisoners of the familiar, avoid the necessary. Her ability to see what is, is not a mythical magic but a conscious decision not to close her eyes. Scenes from films inspired by texts of Christa Wolf are contrasted with the events on stage. In this way, the protagonist encounters her author, and the production bridges into our present. Actor: Johanna Malchow, Theater version, stage and direction: Markus Weber, music: Dominik Wirth. The HEIDELBERG THEATRE DAYS 2026 are organized by the Free Theatre Association Heidelberg e. V. in cooperation with the Karlstorbahnhof e. V., the festival is supported by the City of Heidelberg through the Cultural Office and by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg through the State Association of Amateur Theatre Baden-Württemberg e. V.
