The Klybeck Quarter in Basel—Amid this modern blend of industry, transportation, working-class suburbs, and music, which inspires creative processes, lies a lovely green oasis. Within it stands the charming village church of Kleinhüningen, which, with its distinctive onion-domed tower, is Basel’s only Baroque church! Four times a year—in the fall, winter, spring, and summer—various ensembles from La Cetra perform chamber music in the small church, a genre that is now rarely heard in such an intimate setting, followed by a cozy aperitif. For some Mozart connoisseurs, they rank among the most beautiful works Mozart ever composed: his late piano trios. This genre experienced a “boom” around 1786, and Mozart himself often played them with his Viennese friends. When performed on historical instruments, the tonal balance—and with it, the character of these works—is revealed in an entirely new light. Artists:
