Description
Under the title “Figures and Forms,” the BlattWerk Quintet designs a focused journey through three centuries of music history. Bach's Goldberg Variations form the conceptual starting point – a model of compositional order from which the view opens to the sonic and expressive diversity of the 19th century with Hélène de Montgeroult and Clara Schumann. With Ravel's “Ma mère l’Oye,” the color of sound moves to the center, before Mendelssohn's music for “A Midsummer Night's Dream” closes the arc with dance-like lightness. Thus, different conceptions of form and musical shape meet in ever new constellations. The BlattWerk Quintet, based in Bern, is one of the prominent ensembles of its kind. With independent arrangements and dramaturgically thought-out programs, it has established itself internationally. BlattWerk Quintet
