Description

It is the wind that makes wind instruments sound.
Today we no longer know many earlier instruments. How were they played, how did they sound?

For example, those of antiquity, those of "Turkish music" around 1800, or the orchestra of the Romantic era? And how did the shepherd's horn mutate into the popular instrument of traditional and modern music and the symbol of Swissness: the alphorn?

And try playing our instruments yourself: alphorn, Roman cornua, theremin, and many others.
