Description

Awards Ceremony of the International Contest for Artists from Minorities Theme 2026: “War and Reconciliation” An evening dedicated to art and human rights Join us on November 24, 2026, at the Geneva International School Arts Center (Ecolint) for an exceptional evening dedicated to the awards ceremony of the 5th edition of the International Contest for Artists from Minorities, organized this year around the theme “War and Reconciliation”. During this event, the public will discover the works and backgrounds of the nine laureates, invited to Geneva for the occasion. The artistic creations of the 2026 laureates reflect the realities of war, displacement, exclusion, and violence, but also the dynamics of resilience, healing, and reconciliation. Since 2022, this contest has been organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in partnership with Freemuse, Minority Rights Group International (MRG), the Geneva International School Arts Center, and the City of Geneva. It offers a unique platform for artists belonging to minorities who engage, through art, in defending human rights worldwide. Exhibition of the laureates' works The awards ceremony will be accompanied by an exhibition showcasing a selection of the laureates' works. Through unique perspectives and diverse artistic expressions, these creations explore the consequences of conflicts, possible paths toward reconciliation, and the fundamental role of art and culture in promoting human rights and building more just and inclusive societies. The exhibition is accessible (free of charge) at the Arts Center from November 5 to December 18, 2026.
