In this documentary, Action de Carême explores the evolution of gender roles through examples in Guatemala, Burkina Faso, the Philippines, and Switzerland. Thanks to these stoves, each cooking requires half the wood needed for open fires. These emit much more CO2. Caritas Kitui, a partner organization of Action de Carême, supports families in replacing their open fires with improved stoves. This way, they can cut their wood consumption in half—and the costs associated with it. The stoves also limit deforestation, lighten women's workload, and reduce respiratory diseases.
