After 25 years in Berlin, Caroline Bungeroth has moved to Bern. She only omits two letters and focuses on the essentials. It can't be that hard! That's the theory. But when the offspring from an East German parsonage is uprooted from the Berlin metropolis jungle and replanted in the Bernese suburbs, misunderstandings and faux pas are inevitable. To survive this – and the remaining madness of the world and life – sometimes a strong "Mutausbruch" is needed. The question remains: does the Berliner Schnauze now learn "being nice" from the Swiss?
