Description
Under the scorching sun of Spain, Don José casts an eye on the proud and independent Carmen. She warns him not to fall in love with her, but he is hopelessly obsessed with her. Damiano Michielettos' fiery production returns to the stage, shining a spotlight on lust, violence, and destructive desire in Bizet's timeless opera. A true star ensemble heats up this drama – Ginger Costa-Jackson plays the fiery title role, Russell Thomas the jealous and desperate Don José. After his debut at the Royal Opera in 2023, Sesto Quatrini conducts Bizet's electrifying and sensual score again.
