An evening of dialect with Melina Nora, Helenka, and Johannes R. Millius
"Café Complet" is not just the name of a dinner, but also the concept of this evening: Everything comes together on the table. Cheese next to pickles, silver onions next to bread, dried meat next to something that has been reliably passed on since three family celebrations. A bit quirky, sometimes surprising, but in the end, this mix makes perfect sense.
After the first edition, "Café Complet" is now entering its second round. Again, artists from music, spoken word, cabaret, and storytelling come together, who could hardly be more different and yet harmonize wonderfully. Sometimes melancholic like the last coffee at midnight, sometimes absurd like the discussion about who took the last ham croissant. A varied evening between cabaret, concert, and controlled kitchen chaos.
Melina Nora
Melina Nora has set off into the wide world. Out of the small villages, into the urban realms of Zurich, where she has sought and found her place as a young artist. But she has not left her roots behind; instead, she has always kept them well stored in her backpack.
Together with musician Nicolas Ruedin, Melina Nora wrote and produced her first EP "Landtapu" in her beloved language, "Wallisertitsch." In her songs, Melina Nora quietly tells of the loud, comforts the sad, and calmly reflects on the hustle and bustle of life.
With the demo of her first single "Was Hokksch," Melina Nora made a name for herself nationwide and was discovered by radio stations and festivals even before her first release. Wallisertitschi-Indie-Pop music for all who sometimes dream, search, and miss.
Helenka
Helenka grew up as the child of Slovak immigrants in Emmental. As a child, she invented wild stories with her dolls, had to attend piano lessons with Mamička, and passionately played the recorder. In her teenage years, she sang classical arias and squatted houses in Burgdorf.
Infected by the jazz virus, Helena immersed herself in vocal studies at the jazz school in Bern and experimented with various music styles and bands. After graduating, she founded the electropop band "Electric Blanket" with guitarist and producer Patrick Lernen. Together, the duo produced four albums and played numerous concerts at home and abroad.
"Eine Rohmantiše Revue" was Helena Danis's first solo show, in which she combined her talents as a singer, performer, and comedian. In 2015, she was nominated as Helenka Romantickova for the Swiss Comedy Award and has since been seen on incredibly many funny stages.
Johannes Millius
Johannes Millius is a cultural delegate (Municipality of Leuk), author, spoken-word artist, cabaret performer, director, and producer from Brig-Glis. Influenced by the slightly quirky cultural, television, and kitchen table worlds of the 90s, he was drawn early to stages, behind the scenes, and places where discussions often lasted longer than meals.
In 2026, he presented his first solo show "Im Abgang lebhaft – Johannes R. Millius remembers himself" (Directed by: Nicole Knuth). The program was nominated for the Jungsegler Nachwuchspreis, invited to the nordArt Theater Festival in Stein am Rhein, and is currently on a tour in Switzerland.
In addition to his work on and off stage, Millius writes columns, theater texts, audio formats, and all sorts of other stuff between profundity, nonsense, poetry, and satire. He collaborates with Diego Valsecchi, Fabienne Hadorn, Fritz Bisenz (aka Barbara Hutzenlaub), and many others.
