Burgdorf's Makers Public Tour

Description

On this city tour, you will meet strong, brave, and smart women who have shaped Burgdorf in many different ways – then and now. You will hear about women who raised their voices and resisted, as well as those who worked quietly. Told with excitement and humor, it is about midwives, prostitutes, witches, teachers, caretakers, artists, and the first female driver. The focus is on making the space and rights of Burgdorf women visible. The tour leads through alleys such as Beginnengässli, Hächlergässli, past places like the girls' school and the Krone, which Mathilde Hirt ran as a single mother. Names like Lisa della Casa, Marie Zürcher, or Anna Deubelt weave personal stories with the city's history. A lively city tour from a female perspective.
