Experience Hamadan Hasun live in our bookstore in conversation with Nalin (naliinci). The creator and activist Hamadan Hasun (@hamihsn) shares her family story with her book "From the Ashes of Our Fear," recounting her escape from Iraq and her new beginning in Germany.
As Yazidis fleeing genocide in Iraq, Hamis family had to build a new existence from scratch. Hamadan had to find her own way out of familial trauma, misogynistic, patriarchal structures.
What helped her was her Sisterhood: strong women supporting each other instead of competing. Today, Hamadan Hasun uses her reach as a creator and pushes her elbows out to make space for those marginalized by misogyny, racism, or classism.
